GPTuesday - An Inflection Point for our Movement - 2 Year Anniversary

Over the past 2 years, our community has built GPTuesday into a real movement spanning the world with over 3,000 members and over 100 presentations and workshops.

I have come to know many folks from Miami and around the world, learning more in the past 2 years than I could ever have ever thought possible from the relationships formed and the organization that has been developed.

The friendships generated in the GPTuesday community will last a lifetime for many members, including myself. I am beyond humbled to have led the community to where we are today.

From partnering with Miami Dade College, OpenAI, PyTorch Foundation, Lightning AI, and many more, GPTuesday as an AI/ML community and as an organization has truly reached a level that gives me pride for all of the good it has provided the world.

What kept me going for so long, running GPTuesday every single week for over a year (don’t know how I did it lol), was seeing the immense value it provided to you, the community.  From our community mentors supporting new members with understanding deeper level programming and AI tools, to the startups that were created, as well as the folks who got a job or investment through the community, GPTuesday is truly an outstanding community. The humble meetup even evolved to bring in industry leaders with our GPTuesday AI Summit & Quantum Summit.

GPTuesday is made up of thousands of people with massive ambition, dreams, curiosity, and so much raw talent that the world will be marked by the members of our community in the coming decades of massive change from the wave of AI.

It is with a heavy heart and with an optimistic spirit that I am sharing how GPTuesday and GPTechday, as a name, will cease to exist.

But movements are more than just a name. Movements are about the mission, the community, the relationships formed, and the collective energy that is guided for a true and good purpose. Since starting 2 years ago, so many amazing communities have also grown, and I look forward to collaborating with you more as we are all part of a similar mission and movement. We are all stronger together.

Tomorrow, we are launching DeepStation, marking the inflection point upon GPTuesday’s 2 year anniversary where I will now be able to best serve our movement’s mission, to accelerate AI education and innovation through the power of community.

This isn’t starting over. This is the next level.

We will present on the OpenAI Academy for our first DeepStation event, and our speaker will be our long-time community member and friend from day 1, Alex Comerford.
